Improve your academic writing by working with a Fellow from the Royal Literary Fund:
Whatever your subject or level of study, the RLF Fellow offers one-to-one practical sessions to help you strengthen your academic writing.
This could mean support with planning and structure, advice on clarity and flow, guidance on how to write with greater critical analysis, or any other issue you want help with. The Fellow is a professional author and the advice will be tailored to your specific needs and aims.
The service is free and confidential. Each session lasts 50 minutes.
The RLF Fellow does not proofread your work, teach English as a second language or provide specialist support for specific learning needs.

Sessions are in person on campus or online.

Our RLF Fellow at Î÷¹ÏÊÓÆµ:

Catherine Simpson is a published memoir-writer and novelist. Her memoir, When I Had a Little Sister, about the suicide of her sister, Tricia, was critically acclaimed (‘superb’ - The Sunday Times, ‘riveting’ - The Observer, ‘gripping’ - The Mail on Sunda Catherine’s second memoir, One Body: A Retrospective, was shortlisted for a Saltire Book Award. Her other memoirs are Hold Fast: Motherhood, My Autistic Daughter and Me, and her latest, Sandwiched: Caring Up and Caring Down. Catherine won a New Writers Award with her novel, Truestory.
Catherine has a BA in Communication Studies and an MA in Creative Writing.
She enjoys helping others to clarify their thinking and therefore their writing and regularly mentors in memoir writing at Garsdale Retreat.
